General Physical Preparedness CrossFit Classes
Our General Physical Preparedness (GPP) CrossFit Classes utilize universal and transferable movements often needed for everyday life. Think push, pull, squat, lift, run, throw, as opposed to bicep curls and calf raises. Our small group training programs are a compilation of light, heavy, long, and short workouts coupled with high-intensity intervals. The true beauty of a GPP style workout is that they are all completely scalable. Meaning, the most novice student, world-class athlete, and you grandma, can all complete the same workout with just a few simple modifications to the load, volume and intensity. In an effort to make our program sustainable, our professional coaches ensure that you train only as much as you are able to recover from. After all, this isn’t just about lasting fitness—it’s about creating a consistent healthy lifestyle.
If you’re looking for a high intensity and high energy workout, our MetCon small group training class utilizes functional body weight movements with light to moderate loads. This program includes CrossFit’s strength-building movements but omits the complex gymnastics and Olympic weight-lifting exercises. Like our CrossFit classes, every workout is different! Expect to work hard, have fun, and earn amazing results!
Movement and Mobility
Improve performance, enhance your recovery, and prevent injury with our Movement and Mobility classes! You will learn the best techniques to move and maintain your body. Our Movement and Mobility session is a priority class for all levels. This class is dedicated to teaching Dr. Kelly Starrett’s revolutionary human performance model that uniquely combines a movement-first approach and an athlete centric bias, to achieve superior athletic and functional outcomes. Our athletes recover more quickly, resolve old injuries, enjoy greater fitness, and are empowered to manage and avoid future orthopedic injuries and dysfunction.
The Vent Human Performance Center’s core program is our General Physical Preparedness (GPP) class. We recommend these classes for everyone, to develop and increase base fitness capacities and well-rounded abilities. We also recognize that many athletes need to improve their strength and general fitness in more specific ways which is why we offer a wide variety of specialized classes that are intended to complement our GPP classes.
